The Richard Burns Tournament was held on Saturday 8th October. We had 22 entries, which unusually was more men than ladies, so two kind volunteers agreed to change gender for the afternoon. Thanks Mandy (Stuart Freestone) and Joan (John Talbot), who were not required to wear frilly skirts but were told coloured knickers were mandatory – the spoilsports wouldn’t let us check!! The day was great fun with some good tennis and lots of laughs and, of course, an excellent tea provided by the competitors – thanks guys. The winners were Phil Roberts and Mandy (Staurt Freestone) who beat Nigel Evans and Susan Ford 7-5 We held a raffle which raised £50, half of which will go to Katherine House in Richard’s memory.
